Beaumaris Match Report after their 47 point win over Old Scotch
Beating Old Scotch by 47 points on Saturday was a massive result and totally unexpected, especially given that we were seven points down at half-time and had just watched the opposition kick seven second-quarter goals.
The turnaround was partly due to Nick Dickinson in the ruck. While beaten in the tap-outs, Dicko worked hard around the ground and gave us a real presence at stoppages with his contests at ground level. He got great assistance from Robbie Cathcart, Will Murton, Tom Dean and Luke Casey-Leigh, while Raf Clarke was just sensational back and forward.

Old Brighton Match Report after their 8 point victory over Old Xaverians
Old Brighton Grammarians fought back gallantly to take the points against reigning premier, Old Xaverians, in a tough, desperate, Round 7 contest at South Road. After a ragged, hectic first half in which both sides managed only two goals each, the Xavs took a strong grip on the game with the first three goals of the second half. With great determination, the Tonners held their nerve, and inspired by veteran, Leigh Hendra’s courage and fierce tackling, they clawed their way back into the game to hold their narrow lead at the last break. In a rugged final term, both sides hurled themselves into every contest. The lead changed several times before Charlie King marked strongly in front of the pavilion and steered home the goal that sealed Old Brighton’s second win of the season.

De La Salle Match Report after their 1 point victory over St Bernards
After letting a winnable game slip last week we were really up against it today when we took on 2nd placed St Bernards. The Snowdogs are the form side of the competition and have been undefeated since a narrow loss to Trinity in round 1. They are a strong team with a number of ex AFL players. This includes competition leading goal kicker, ex Eagle Chad Jones and ex Carlton mid Adam Bentick who many good judges rate as the best player in the comp. Across the first 6 rounds our effort could not be questioned but on class alone this looked a big ask and would require a whole team performance.

Old Ivanhoe Match Report after their 7 point victory over Fitzroy
The opening half was again an arm wrestle, with the seniors this time able to apply some scoreboard pressure against Fitzroy with a 13-point lead at the main break. The quicker ball movement of Old Ivanhoe, as well as an exceptional defensive half, proving the difference at the main change. Fitzroy stormed out after the half time break to send through 4 majors in the 3rd quarter, with clean and precise movement of the football, taking a 1 goal buffer into the final term. Again, the seniors displayed the typical OIGFC spirit by not allowing the game to slip away, responding with their own 4-goal quarter to take a 2 point lead into the final 5 minutes. Moments later, a favourable bounce to A.Vella in the forward 50, who then steadied and kicked truly, was the icing on the 50th anniversary cake delivering Old Ivanhoe its second win of the season in a hotly contested battle.

South Melbourne Districts match report after their 28 point win over Elsternwick
With both sides sitting on 8 points, and looking to avoid the bottom two, but also stay in touch with the 4, it was a must win! For most part of the day it was goal for goal with the Districts in front all this time. Saba Mahoney was a handful up forward, along with Adam Ray and “The King” Lane… The second half was a tight affair with EFC coming from 22 points down to hit the front half way through the 3rd term. The Districts rallied and managed to keep their noses in front at the final change.
