Whitefriars kept their slim hopes of avoiding relegation alive with a 47-point victory against Brunswick NOBSPC at Whitefriars College. Michael Nitas was the hero with seven goals for the Friars, while Hewitt Murray kicked four and Angus Hands continued his outstanding form with a BOG display. Christopher Ford and Matthew Shannon kicked three each for the eighth-placed NOBS.
Therry Penola went three games clear of the relegation zone as they defeated Preston Bullants by 49 points at John Pascoe Fawkner Reserve. With scores tied 36-apiece at half time, the Lions exploded with 10 goals to three in the second half. No goals or bests were submitted at time of publication.
PEGS claimed their third win in four outings after they defeated St John’s by 92 points at Thomas Carroll Reserve. Adrian Romanyk led the charge with seven goals for the Bombers and Tylar Vujanic snagged five. Nicholas Terrill was the only multiple goal scorer for the JOCs as they remain in ninth spot on the ladder.
St Mary’s Salesian solidified top spot on the Division 1 ladder with a 40-point victory over Oakleigh at Scammell Reserve. Thomas McGenniss-Destro starred in a BOG display for the Siants while Manny Dolan and Daniel Ryan kicked three goals each. Luke Pappon impressed for the fourth-placed Krushers.
Ormond came from seven points down at the last break and recorded a 25-point win over Ivanhoe at E.E. Gunn Reserve. Trailing by seven straight behinds, the Monders piled on seven goals to two in a dominant final term as Luke Gogis starred and led the charge. Matthew Martinov kicked four goals for the Monder, while Reuben Blackmore-Moore top-scored with three for the Magpies.
