The Oakleigh Amateur Football Club is delighted to announce that Aaron Lord has joined the Oakleigh Amateur Football Club as an assistant playing coach for season 2013.
After a distinguished junior career, including being named as a Under 18 All Australian, Captain Victorian Under 18 team and best player in the Under 18 National Carnival, Aaron played 150 AFL games with the Geelong and Hawthorn Football Clubs.
Aaron played in the 1995 AFL Grand Final was a Norwich Rising Star nominee, the Best first year player at Hawthorn, finished 3rd and Runner Up in Hawthorn’s Best & Fairest, was Hawthorn’s leading goal kicker in 1999 and represented Victoria.
Aaron Lord said “I am looking forward to working with Martin and the other coaches at the Krushers to help develop the youth on the clubs list. I’ve known Martin for a long time and when I met with him and other club representatives I was extremely impressed with the enthusiasm and passion each displayed for the club and the vision for the Krushers moving forward.”
Martin Stillman said, “It’s great to have Aaron at the club, I’ve known Aaron for over 20 years and he is a quality person and will be terrific for the footy club both on and off the field. I’m looking forward to Aaron’s input and he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our young playing group”.
Aaron becomes the first former AFL player to join the Krushers and we welcome him to the Krushers and wish him welcome for season 2013.
