Old Yarra Cobras was formed following the conclusion of the 2022 VAFA season with Yarra Old Grammarians merging with Manningham Cobras.

The Men’s program currently competes in Division 2, while the Women’s program have teams in Premier B and Division 4.

Yarra Old Grammarians Football Club was formed in 1993 at Yarra Valley Old Boys FC by a group of former students of Yarra Valley Grammar School. The club was admitted to the VAFA that same year, commenced in the newly formed F2 Grade.

Success came almost instantaneously for the Bushrangers as they claimed their first of four senior premierships in 1994, just one year after their inception.

In 2017, the club fielded a team in Development Division 2 of the inaugural VAFA Women’s Competition before claiming the Premier C flag in 2019.

Manningham Cobras was formed in 1996 following a merger of Canterbury North Balwyn United and Bulleen United. Bulleen United had a strong history in the VAFA with two premierships in F Section (1982) and E Section (1986).

The Yarra Old Grammarians merged with the Manningham Cobras in 2023 to form the Old Yarra Cobras.
