Yarra Old Grammarians Football Club was formed in 1993 at Yarra Valley Old Boys FC by a group of former students of Yarra Valley Grammar School. The club was admitted to the VAFA that same year and, with Wayne Reddaway as senior coach and Jarrod Dickson as captain, commenced in the newly formed F2 Grade.
Success came almost instantaneously for the Bushrangers as they claimed their first of four senior premierships in 1994, just one year after their inception.
They currently compete in Division 2 after falling victim to a last-placed Division 1 finish in 2015 on the back of just two wins for the season. Heading into the 2017 VAFA season, the club formally changed its name from Yarra Valley Old Collegians to Yarra Old Grammarians – reflecting the strong ties with its school. In 2017, the club fielded a team in Development Division 2 of the inaugural VAFA Women’s Competition before claiming the Premier C flag in 2019.
The Yarra Old Grammarians merged with the Manningham Cobras in 2023 to form the Old Yarra Cobras.
