Gerard, who was a member of South’s 2007 D2 Premiership side, takes on the role after a frustrating 2008 saw him cast in the role of assistant coach for much of the season due to injury.
Gerard’s football pedigree is off the top shelf having been drafted from the Ballarat Rebels to the Brisbane Lions, then a stint on Geelong’s supplementary list before playing great footy at Port Melbourne in the VFL and Lower Plenty in the DVFL. The Club would like to wish Gerard all the best for the coming season and have every confidence that with “Jessy” at the helm The Club can continue it’s climb up the grades.
