The Manningham Cobras have appointed former Marcellin assistant Anthony Pezzimenti as senior coach for 2011.
“We set out with a clear agenda to find the coach who will take us the next step in 2011 and then in the years beyond consolidate our position in higher sections,” said Cobras president Andrew Foskett.
“Further to this, it is vital that we continue on the path that began 12 months ago with the significant recruiting strategy that brought many new faces to the club. The mandate for the coach of 2011 is to develop the playing list further, and add to it where required. The 2011 goal for the Manningham Cobras is nothing less than to build on 2010 and win the flag,” he added.
“Our great thanks to Laurie Zarafa and his team, who took over when the club was not in a good position on or off the field. With the guidance and support of all involved in both the football department and committee, we have grown the footy club into a successful entity – one which has begun to create its own history. Laurie and his team have been instrumental in that – and the club owes them a great deal,” Foskett concluded.
Scott Robbins will continue in his post as reserves coach and other positions within the coaching group will be finalised in the coming days.
