The VAFA would like to congratulate Lachlan Ferguson of Collegians for winning the Club Warehouse Rising Star Award for the 2012 season.
Lachlan beat out 17 other nominations from the home and away season and will be presented with the award at next Monday’s VAFA Presentation Dinner.
It has been a great season for the 20 year old playing 14 games and booting 15 goals to help Collegians claim the minor premiership.
He then helped them into next week’s Premier Grand Final with a brilliant second semi final display kicking two goals and being named Collegians best by their coaching team.
Next week he has the chance to play in his third premiership in three seasons after securing the 2010 APS Premiership with Wesley College, followed by his three goal performance in the 2011 Premier Grand Final for Collegians.
A product of Wesley College Lachlan is the sort of player that has every chance of being picked up as a mature age rookie by and AFL club.
His clean hands, sharp disposal and goal sense are all great assets and he loves the physical contest as well.
Everyone at the VAFA congratulates Lachlan on being the 2012 Club Warehouse Rising Star winner.
