ROUND 6 WRAP: DIVISION 1-4

In Division 1 the news for Glen Eira supporters isn’t any better this week after the Saints succumbed to Bulleen Templestowe by 104 points at home. Peter Voglis kicked five goals for the Bullants. Old Gellong’s up and down season continued this time with a win over local rival MHSOBs by 15 points. Sam Long was the standout performed snaring 8 of the OG’s 12 goals. Hampton Rovers made it a 6-0 start to the year when beat Old Mentonians by 53 points. Daniel Corp nailed five goals for the Rovers who were goalless at quarter time. Whitefriars defeated Ormond by 35 points sit just behind the Rovers in second spot. Jean Daou kicked half a dozen majors for the ‘Friars. Jack Gray’s five Williamstown CYMS goals were less than Patrick Harris’s eight for Prahran Assumption but the CY’s had more contributoris as they beat the Two Blues by 31 points. 

Division 2 sees three teams share top spot on the ladder, with Therry Penola leading the way after their 86 point win over Monash Gyrphons. It was another Bannister special as Jarrod (8 goals) and Corey (6) were too good for the Gryphons. Old Eltham Collegians kept on pace with the Lions when they beat Old Paradians by 29 points. Michael Hargrave kicked half a dozen goals for the Turtles. St John’s are proving to be a thorn in the side of a few teams and they were again for Ivanhoe as the Joc’s saluted by 69 points. St Mary’s Salesian are the other side on five wins after they beat Emmaus St Leo’s by 15 points. Yarra Valley travelled to Albert Park and came about with the four points when they managed to defeat South Melbourne Districts by 35 points. 

Power House blew open Division 3 defeating Aquinas by 55 points away from home. Jaydn Gatti and Reece Humphreys kicked five goals each in a memorable win. Swinburne University defeated Albert Park by 95 points, to show their credentials in this section. Kew beat off a determined Elsternwick by 27 points to go equal top of the table. The Bears share top spot with UHS-VU who had a 10 goal win over La Trobe Uni. Ed Pearson kicking seven goals for the combine. Demeo’s seven goals were enough for Richmond Central to win the battle of the sashes against South Mornington by 76 points. Whilst Old Westbourne remain winless this year as they went down to St Francis Xavier by 83 points. 

In Division 4 The Dragons beat Chadstone by 70 points, Mohammad Babar kicked seven goals in the win. Hawthorn had another huge win, this time over Mt Lilydale by 138 points. David Tremewen and Sean Stormonth shared six and five goals respectively. Northern Blues had a great 29 point win over West Brunswick as Lach McRedmond booted six goals for the Blues. Eley Park Sharks kept their winning form in tact as they defeated Manningham Cobras by 77 points. David Viola grabbed six goals for the winners. Point Cook returned to the winners list defeating North Brunswick by 28 points.
