St Bedes/Mentone Tigers were able to kick goals into the breeze, something that De La Salle were unable to do and ultimately they won the game in a canter by 50 points. The loss sends De La Salle out of the four whilst the Tigers have made another statement about their intentions this year.
Old Xaverians came from behind to overrun St Bernard’s at Toorak Park to win by 23 points. St Bernard’s held sway early but were held goalless in the third term and couldn’t rally enough inthe final quarter to trouble the ladder leaders.
Collegians and Beaumaris was the crunch game and Collegians top level experience won out. The visitors too good for the Sharks to record a vital 43 point win.
Old Scotch defeated a depleted Uni Blues at Camberwell Sports Ground by 78 points. The Cardinals piled on 11 goals to 1 in the final quarter to make a mockery of the final scoreline. Blues played the final quarter without a bench as injuries curtailed their ability to rotate.
Uni Blacks did as they needed to in defeating Old Carey by 47 points.
In Premier B Caulfield Grammarians challenged St Kevin’s all day until SKOBs kicked away late to win by five goals. SKOBs are now three games clear in fourth, all but confirming the four starters in Premier B finals.
Old Melburnians kept Parkdale Vultures in the relegation zone with a 38 point win at the Junction Oval.
Old Brighton were too good for an undermanned AJAX, defeating the home side by 49 points.
Fitzroy regained some much needed percentage and jumped a place on the ladder to 7th courtesy of theur 54 point win over Werribee. The Tigers are still a mathematical chance of playing in Premier B next season.
Old Trinity had 10 individual goalkickers in their 72 point thrashing of Old Haileyburians. The Bloods are safe in Premier B but will not play finals in 2013. Old Trinity remain on top by percentage from both Old Melburnians and Old Brighton.
IN Premier C Banyule’s run of outs continued as the Bears moved into the relegation places via their 98 point humbling at the hands of Marcellin. Beaini (6) and Carlson (5) the main Eagles contributors in the rout. Marcellin have moved back into the four at the expense of PEGS.
PEGS drop out due to their loss to a resurgent Monash Blues. Blues came from behind and with an eight goal third term rode the momentum to the final siren to record a gutsy 21 point win out at Essendon.
Oakleigh swapped places with Banyule and took a massive step to avoiding a double drop in as many seasons via their impressive 61 point hammering of Peninsula. Bromley kicked seven goals in the win that sees the Krushers move to 8th.
Old Ivanhoe ground out a 31 point win at NOBs-St Pat’s. The win keeps the Hoers in third whilst NOBs-St Pat’s would need to win their remaining four to have any hope of avoiding a return to Division 1 a year after their premiership.
Old Camberwell are not our of relegation trouble either. Another heavy loss, this time to a rampant Mazenod by 11 goals leaves them on equal points with Oakleigh and just a game clear of Banyule. Phibbs kicked five for the Nodders who are two games clear on top.
