Old Geelong Football Club opened its 2025 season in historic fashion, with its women’s side marking their first year in the William Buck Premier competition with two wins straight out
It is great to see so many players from VAFA clubs participating in this year’s International Cup being held in across Melbourne over a three week period. Matches kicked off last weekend and the VAFA has players representing Britain, China, Finland, India, Ireland and New Zealand.
Collegians player Andy Howison will captain the New Zealand side, but you can see a full list of VAFA players representing their country below.
This weekend is the Community Round of the International Cup where local community clubs will host an international fixture at their ground and the VAFA has been luck enough to have two of our clubs host matches.
The captains of Tonga and Japan – wonder if one country will have to wear a clash jumper?
There will be International Cup games held at both Box Hill North and Manningham Cobras.
Manningham Cobras are hosting: Great Britain vs Fiji at Koonung Reserve, Bulleen from 11.40am and Box Hill North are hosting: Japan vs Tonga at Elgar Park, Box Hill from 10.40am.
So if you are in the area, before you head to you ground on Saturday, why not watch an International game of Australian rules football.
