Round 2 saw huge wins to the Northern Blues, De La Salle and Peninsula with Blues forward Damien Delle-Vergini booting a bag of eight goals in a best-on-ground performance. In the closest game of the round, Therry Penola overcame Oakleigh by 30 points after a slow start. A solid defensive effort from the Lions kept Oakleigh goalless in the second quarter. At Frearson Oval, Monash Blues were able to outlast Parkdale Vultures to register their first win of the year by 46 points. It was an even team performance by Monash, with nine different goal kickers, but Lachlan Buck led the way with two goals and hard running through the middle which allowed Monash to pull away after quarter time. Peninsula recorded consecutive 100 point plus wins to reaffirm its spot at the top of the ladder. It was always going to be difficult for Old Haileyburians who didn’t notch a goal until after half time. St Kevins prevailed over Beaumaris in a low scoring encounter at Banksia reserve. Two goals each to Lachlan Wray and Nicholas Dachs helped set up the win.
