Yarra Valley will be buoyed by their late season form after they won the second of their last three matches with a 36-point victory over Bulleen Templestowe at Ted Ajani Reserve. A five-goal to one opening term set the tone for the Bushrangers as they continued that form for the remaining three quarters, thanks in large to five majors from Jordan Canham. Both sides will be relegated to Division 2 in 2016.
Old Mentonians made it two in a row following their 17-point win against NOBS/St Pats at Alec Gillon Oval. It was a high scoring affair between both sides, with Kyle Conlon the chief destroyer up forward for the Panthers with seven goals, while Matt Keown kicked five at the other end.
Ormond continued their red-hot winning form heading into finals, defeating Prahran Assumption by 21 points at E.E. Gunn Reserve. Leading by just 11 points at the last break in action, the Monders booted five goals to three in the fourth quarter to run away with the win. The Monders sit comfortably on the top of the Division 1 ladder, while the Two Blues are sixth.
St Mary’s Salesian received some well-timed momentum heading into the business end of the season as they defeated fellow top four member Old Geelong by 26 points at Ferndale Park. Gary Puruntatameri continued his vintage form with six majors for the Saints, while Nick Baum ran riot in a best-on-ground performance.
Whitefriars produced a stunning upset against Kew, defeating the second-placed side by 28 points and handing them just their fourth loss of the season. Leading by just seven points at the final break, the Friars piled on five goals to two in the last quarter to cause the Division 1 upset. Alexander Marcello starred with three majors for the Friars, while Tim Allman snagged four for the Bears.
