Warriors inflict Canterbury’s first loss on eve of finals

Box Hill North continued their strong form in the latter part of the home and away season, defeating Chadstone by 127 points at Jordan Reserve. The Penny boys dominated up forward for the Demons, kicking 11 majors between them.

Parkside made it four in a row on the back of a 59-point victory against Manningham Cobras at Pitcher Park. Shane Potter was electric up forward, continuing his strong form with another six goals to his name.

A 16-goal to two second half helped Point Cook blow out Mt Lilydale to the tune of 139 points at Saltwater Reserve. Leading by 43 points at the half, the Bulldogs lifted a gear in the final two quarters and gave themselves the confidence required to succeed come finals.

Masala registered their second win for the 2015 season when they defeated South Mornington by 16 points in a hard-fought battle at Citation Oval. Trailing at the half time break, Masala piled on six goals to three to run out the match, thanks in large to Sam Freeman’s five majors.

Westbourne Grammarians shook Division 4 to its core as they defeated the previously unbeaten Canterbury by 15 points at Westbourne School Grounds.  Trailing by eight points at half time, the Warriors kept the ladder leaders scoreless in third to help run over the top. The win makes for a mouth watering finals series.
