A group of 26 umpires have enrolled in the 2015 Summer Umpiring Development Academy to further develop their skills and rise through the ranks in 2016.
The group is made up of VAFA umpires as well as umpires from neighbouring competitions such as the SMJFL and YJFL.
VAFA Senior Umpiring Coach, Tony Hales, leads the program and is supported by VAFA Cadet Umpire Coach, Guy Hexter, and a team of VAFA umpires.
The program includes theory, practical components and presentations from senior experienced umpires Merv Monty & Jonathon Auditore, Fitness Coach Tom Bergin and AFL Victoria Head Umpiring Coach Cameron Nash.
We look forward to the participants playing a big part in VAFA football next season and beyond.
