Round 8 Anytime Fitness Men’s Rising Star: Griffin Box
The VAFA congratulates Matt Mayes from Old Scotch Football Club who has been nominated as the Round 7 Anytime Fitness Men’s Rising Star. Griffin has polled coaches votes in 5
Congratulations to Katherine Viti who has been named the Round 6 Anytime Fitness Rising Star nominee after her starring role in SKOB Saint’s 20-point women’s premier victory over Old Trinity.
What the Club said:
“Katherine started in 2016 as a forward in the inaugural SKOB Saints VWFL team and plays like Orazio Fantazia.
Although she plays forward and has kicked a few goals, she finds space, can weave out of trouble and has speed and a strong tackling ability to bring players down twice her size.
Kat plays above her height and weight; can take a strong mark; puts out the “don’t argue” and comes off best. Her mantra is to move the ball forward at all costs and to kick at least 1 goal per match.
She is great around the club rooms; pumps her team mates up; is motivational; challenges the coaches but always in good faith and dedicated to the club, prepares very well and committed to improving her football skills. She underestimates her value to the team and is always critical of her performance”
