William Buck extend Premier naming rights partnership

By Nick Armistead · July 13, 2017
William Buck extend Premier naming rights partnership

The VAFA is excited to reveal William Buck Chartered Accountants and Advisors has extended its Premier naming rights sponsorship to our new Premier Women’s competition.  In a new three year deal, William Buck has consolidated its support of the VAFA by extending its involvement across our men’s and women’s Premier sections.  William Buck has an ongoing commitment to support women and gender equity within the workplace and local communities.

It is an exciting year for women’s football as the VAFA’s inaugural year has produced 40 teams and over 1900 registered female players, making it the biggest senior women’s competition in the nation.  Participation is set to grow further next year by at least 10-15 more teams.

From a corporate point of view, senior level females at William Buck in Victoria come in at over 31% with the next level revealing an approximate 50% ratio. With flexible working options available for all employees and a strong focus on living their “Changing Lives” brand promise, William Buck continue to address the gender balance gap.

Managing Director of William Buck Victoria, Lindsay Holloway, says the firm were immediately interested in sponsoring the Premier Women’s section as soon as it became aware of the opportunity.

“We are delighted to be able to associate our brand with an initiative that showcases some of Australia’s best talent on the sporting field,”

“The VAFA network has been a great avenue for our firm and in helping to promote the visibility of our brand in the community. We have a number of Directors who have come into the business from these networks and we are seeing a new generation of graduates that want to work with us because of our association with VAFA.”

According to VAFA’s General Manager of Commercial Operations, Blair O’Hara, the William Buck extension into Premier Women’s was good for both organisations.

“William Buck made a big impact across the VAFA by adding their brand to our men’s Premier section several years ago. William Buck has now become synonymous with ‘Premier’ and it is the top honour in our Association to win a William Buck Premier flag.  Knowing how much William Buck value gender equity in their business, it was a logical fit for them to add their name to our Premier Women’s section too.  At least one club has set its sights on taking home the honours in a historic double this year!”

William Buck has been one of the VAFA’s most supportive corporate partners in recent years and we look forward to developing mutual success for both organisations into the future.

The William Buck Premier Women’s Grand Final is scheduled for Sunday 20 August & the William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final is scheduled for Sunday 24 September.
