The Big V celebrates its Centenary in style!
The VAFA community came together for the largest function in League history when more than 500 guests packed Centrepiece at Melbourne Park to celebrate 100 years of the Big V
The VAFA congratulates St Bedes/Mentone Tigers young gun, Tate Short, on his Round 16 Men’s Rising Star nomination after starring for the Tigers over the weekend with four goals.
What the club said:
“Tate Short joined St Bedes/Mentone Tigers at the start of the 2017 season. He joined us from St Peter’s where he had forged a very successful junior career.
VFL listed at Footscray one would still think that Tate may model himself on Geelong’s Harry Taylor – a tall lean player who has the ability to play both forward and back. This is evidenced by his almost three match-winning goals in the last quarter of the VAFA Under 19 Representative game in June, and his four goals for the Tigers when moved forward last week.
Tate’s marking and running ability are among his great strengths. A very quiet and unassuming young man, he is renowned for his ability to be the best he can possibly be.
We congratulate Tate and look forward to seeing him in a Tigers jumper for many years to come.”
