Saturday May 5th & Sunday May 6th is the VAFA Umpires Round which is in conjunction with the AFL Community Umpire Week.
Before all matches on this weekend, the VAFA Umpiring Department ask all coaches before each game to join their captains at the coin toss in the centre of the field and shake the hands of all officiating umpires.
It is also encouraged to broadcast the shaking of hands on Social Media by “tagging” the following social media platforms;
