The VAFA congratulates Tommy Keyte from Hampton Rovers, who has been nominated as the Round 7 VAFA Men’s Rising Star.
Tommy delivered a standout performance in the Rovers’ win over GEOM, finishing with 7 goals, 17 disposals, and 125 ranking points.

Tommy joined Hampton Rovers ahead of the 2026 season after playing a key role in Old Brighton’s back-to-back Premier Under 19 premierships. A product of the East Brighton Junior Football Club, Tommy has made an immediate impact since arriving at Boss James Reserve. In his first season with the Rovers, Tommy has played five of the club’s seven senior matches, featuring among the best players on four occasions and kicking 17 goals. He is coming off a standout performance against Glen Eira/Old McKinnon, where he earned best-on-ground honours after booting seven goals in a dominant display.
Standing at 189cm, Tommy is an elite athlete who combines speed, toughness and versatility. Capable of playing in multiple positions, he is highly competitive in the contest and possesses a strong ability to hit the scoreboard. Beyond his on-field performances, Tommy has quickly become a valued member of the Club. He has fitted seamlessly into the playing group and has impressed coaches and teammates alike with his humility, respectful nature and team-first attitude. Tommy is an outstanding young man whose contribution to the club extends well beyond football.We are delighted to have Tommy at Hampton Rovers and look forward to watching his continued development. Given the impact he has already made at senior level, we have no doubt he has a bright future ahead of him.
