North Brunswick handed South Mornington a comprehensive 165-point loss at Allard Park. The George brothers, Brendan (10) and Jake (6), proved more than a handful up forward with 16 goals between them for the Bulls, while Aaron Davidson and Anthony Bos fought hard for the Tigers. The Tigers remain fourth but just over 2% above the Swans.
South Melbourne Districts felt similar pain when they went down to Parkside by 138 points at Pitcher Park. 11 goals to three in the opening half opened the game up as the Red Devils went on to kick another 14 to one in the third and fourth terms. Luciano Logozzo had a day out with five goals in a BOG display for the Red Devils, while Steve Clarke did his utmost in an impressive performance for the Swans.
Masala registered their second win for the season, running out 27-point victors against Mt Lilydale at Fotheringham Reserve. The Tigers kicked five goals to one in a blistering opening term, before things evened out with eight goals apiece in the final three terms. Declan Lee was outstanding for the second consecutive week for the Tigers, while Jaryd Coghill top-scored with three goals. Dion Paull led the charge for the Rams with four of his own.
Elsternwick proved too strong for Eley Park Sharks, defeating them by 11 points at EP. Leading by one point at the first break, the Wickers went on to kick nine goals to seven in what was a generally tight match. Julian Yeatman top-scored with six while Justin Hunter booted four for the Wickers. Jesiah McGarvie gave it everything he had with six of the Sharks’ 10 goals.
St Francis Xavier made it three wins on the trot as they defeated Box Hill North by 98 points at Strathaird Reserve. Thomas Kerr (4) and Stephen Richards-Gill (3) led the way on the scoreboard, while Chris Hughes was best afield. Nicholas Fowler and Eugene Charles were standouts for the Demons.
