Christopher Grigoriadis and Matthew Petering booted three goals each for the Sharks, with Grigoriadis named best afield. Brendon Goddard starred for the Fields with four goals and they remain on top despite going down to Scotch and the Sharks since the double bye.
A dominant second half helped University Blacks to a strong 26-point victory over Old Scotch at Uni Oval. The Blacks, who are on a three-game winning streak, trailed by eight points at half time but booted eight goals to just three in the third and fourth. Hugh Curnow and Campbell Moorfield kicked three goals each for the Blacks while Tom McKinley and Will Mitchell were standouts for the Cardinals. Both sides maintain their position on the ladder with the Cardinals in second ahead of the third-placed Blacks.
Monash Blues won their second consecutive game and fourth for the season as they defeated Parkdale Vultures by 61 points at Frearson Oval. The Blues ignited with five unanswered goals in the first term and never looked back as they produced 29 scoring shots to 13. St Bedes/Mentone Tigers kept the pressure on the top four with a thrilling one-point win over Old Haileybury at Princes Park Caulfield. The Tigers led by 10 points at three quarter time before the reborn and unrelenting Bloods came hard and outscored the Tigers with three goals to two in the final term. Nathan Smith bagged a season-high five goals for the Tigers and Thomas Tyquin was named BOG for the second time this year. Haileybury shared the goals with two each to Lachlan Treverton, John Nicolopoulos, Riley Thompson and Durras Seccull.
Old Geelong snapped out of a severe form slump and ended a five-game losing streak with a 76-point victory over Fitzroy at Brunswick St Oval.
