2025 William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final Day
Take a look back at 2025 VAFA William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final day at Elsternwick Park, as Old Brighton defeated Old Scotch to claim their first top-flight Premiership.
As the 2021 season comes to a close for sides outside the top four, Preston Bullants have announced that club champion George Wakim will not continue as senior men’s coach.
Wakim joined the club 10 years ago (then known as Northern Blues) and became their first-ever senior coach in 2013.
His results were as incredible as they were immediate, leading his chargers to four senior flags in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2019.
He was named the VAFA Coach of the Year for the first time in 2014 following his side’s 24-point Division 3 Grand Final win over Richmond Central.
Just two years later, Wakim was named the Coach of the Year (Divisions) yet again on the back of their incredible 12-point win over St John’s in Division 2.
Now, as he departs, the Bullants are competing in Premier C.
From everyone at the VAFA, we congratulate George on his incredible tenure with Preston and thank him for his service to the Association.
