Congratulations to Hampton Rovers’ Tayla Jones on being nominated as the Round 1 Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star nominee. Tayla kicked two goals in a best on ground performance in the Rovers’ 51-point win over Power House.
What the club said:
Last year, the Rovers celebrated a significant milestone when Tayla Jones became the first women’s player to progress from Auskick (in 2011) through to Seniors at the club. She also played for the Sandringham Dragons in 2020-2022, the U17 Vic Metro team in 2021 and is also an assistant coach for the Rovers U16 girls since last year.
Tayla played a great game on Saturday and was a unanimous best on ground from all the coaches. She kicked two goals playing on the wing and had five goal assists. Tay is an integral part of the Rovers women’s team as they continue to go from strength to strength.
