The VAFA today announced the following staff changes:
Sam Confait
After 8 years with the VAFA, Sam has accepted an offer to join the AFL as the South-East Region General Manager.
Sam joined the VAFA administration team in March 2014, was promoted to Football Operations Manager in 2016, and has been in his current position as General Manager, Football & Umpiring, and a member of the VAFA Senior Management Team since 2018. Sam departs the VAFA on Friday April 22 to take up the new position.
In his time with the VAFA, Sam was instrumental in implementing many initiatives including:
Matt Collister
Current Football Operations Manager, Matt Collister has been promoted to the role of General Manager, Football & Umpiring effective Monday April 25. Matt has been the Football Operations Manager since January 2020, he has done an outstanding job since taking on the role and thoroughly deserves the promotion.
VAFA Interim CEO Peter Grant said “Sam is a highly respected member of the VAFA team and community and I congratulate him on securing the role with the AFL. Sam leaves us with our very best wishes in his future career and we thank him for his outstanding contribution during his 8 years with the VAFA.
I am delighted that Matt has accepted the offer to move into Sam’s role, he certainly has the strong support of the Administration team to facilitate a seamless transition.’’
