The VAFA congratulates Kitty Smyth from Old Brighton on being awarded the Round 7 Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star nominee. Kitty kicked 6 goals as part of Old Brighton’s thumping victory over Old Geelong which kept the Tonners in top spot on the Premier B Women’s ladder.
What the club said:
“Kitty has come to Old Brighton after a successful season with Sandy Dragons U/18’s and has approached open age football with great enthusiasm and maturity.
She is a very creative player and has the knack of bobbing up in the right place at the right time and is deadly accurate around goal. Last week she had 4 majors on the board before we knew it and finished the day with 6 through hard running and creating space.
In addition to playing some great footy all year Kitty has been fantastic around the group and is a pleasure to coach. She is a great listener and learner.
From all of us at the Tonners congratulations on your nomination Kitty!”
