
2025 Premier B Women’s Fixture
The Premier B Women’s fixture has been released for the 2025 season. New club Port Melbourne Chargers will host Old Melburnians in their historic first home game at JL Murphy
There’s been change at the top of Old Brighton in the past 24 hours as Greg Hutchison, the clubs longest serving coach has announced he is stepping down from the role.
In a statement released on the clubs Facebook page, Old Brighton paid tribute to the man affectionately known as ‘Hutch’. “The club couldn’t be more grateful to Greg for all his has contributed to Old Brighton and the community. His commitment and passion for the club and its players has been exceptional, and he leaves the club in an even better place than it was when he took over.”
Greg has been the most successful coach in the club’s history, guiding them to a B Grade Premiership in 2017 and an A-Grade Grand Final this season. Only the second time in Old Brighton’s 55 year history.
Hutchison joined Old Brighton in 2015 and coached the side for 8 seasons, making him the club’s longest serving senior coach, and a winning record that is the envy of the competition. Hutch has been the driving force in creating a Tonners side that play tough, competitive and exciting brand of football that saw them nearly go all the way in 2022.
Everyone from Old Brighton, and the VAFA wish Greg, his wife Karen and three daughters Briony, Ash & Amy all the best in their future endeavours.
Across William Buck Premier other clubs have moved to re-sign their coaches in recent weeks, James Byrne will remain at the helm of Old Xaverians for a further 2 seasons, Mark Gnatt has put pen to paper at Old Scotch. Collegians, after 10 wins in a row to finish in the top two have announced Jared Rivers will continue to lead the purple army in 2023.
Caulfield Grammarians are on the lookout for a new coach after Simon ‘Punchy’ Williams stepped down at the conclusion of Round 18, whilst St Bernard’s, who will play in Premier B in 2023 are also on the hunt for their next coach with Paul Groves standing down citing work and family commitments the reasons for his departure.
