After a thrilling Round 1, The VAFA congratulates Bridget Hudson from Melbourne University Women’s Football Club, who has received the Anytime Fitness Rising Star nomination from the season’s opening weekend.
What the club said:
As a club we are stoked for Reg! She’s a player to watch this season, a quiet achiever and so deserving of this nomination. Bridget “Reg” Hudson joined the Mugars early in the preseason and has rarely missed a session. She’s leaned into the club culture, even pulling on the goal umpire coat for our Thirds prior to playing on Sunday afternoon!
Sunday’s match was her Senior Football debut as a 17 year old, having played all her junior football with Banyule JFC, during which she was twice selected into the WorkSafe AFL Victoria Representative Games (Interleague) for the Yarra Junior Football League.
We’re sure there are many more moments to come for her and we can’t wait to see what she achieves next.
