The 2025 VAFA Football Season will commence on Saturday 5th April for all competitions, with every section playing two rounds before the Easter long-weekend bye on 19th April.
The VAFA has determined section structures for the 2025 season across the six senior men’s competitions.
The Senior Men’s competition operates on a promotion/relegation structure which sees the two Grand Finalists move up a section, whilst the two lowest finishing sides are relegated down a section.

10 is the optimal number across an 18-round home and away season to ensure each team plays each other twice and to ensure fixture equality.
Season 2025 will see Division 3 Men’s revert back to a 10-team competition, due to the departure of Bulleen Templestowe AFC following the 2024 season.
The 2025 senior men’s section structure will be as follows:
Fixturing for all competitions will commence in mid-November with the aim to complete as many fixtures as possible prior to the end of the year.
*Section Structures are subject to change in the lower Divisions should clubs be unable to field a Senior side.
