The Premier Thirds competition delivered arguably the biggest upset of the entire VAFA season, with St Kevin’s claiming the flag in a 5-point thriller over Old Xaverians, who had finished 3 games clear on top and beaten SKOB by 28 points in the Second Semi.
In 2025, the Premier Thirds competition will again consist of eight teams, with just one change: AJAX will be promoted, while Old Trinity are looking to field a Divisional team, subject to player numbers.
The Jackas, who made the Thirds Division 1 Preliminary Final in 2024, will kick off their Premier campaign with a visit to St Bernard’s College to face the Snowdogs in the opening round.
St Kevin’s will unfurl their premiership flag ahead of an opening round clash against Old Brighton at TH King Oval, and we won’t have to wait long for the much-anticipated Grand Final rematch, with SKOB to visit Old Xavs at the newly-redeveloped Toorak Park in Round 3.
It will once again be a 16-round home & away season, and there will be three single-week bye rounds – between Rounds 2-3 (Easter), 8-9 (King’s Birthday) and 12-13 (Big V rep weekend).
The final round of the home & away season will take place on August 9-10, followed by a three-week Finals campaign culminating with Grand Final Day on the weekend of August 30-31.
