The VAFA congratulates Sienna Bernardo from Oakleigh Amateur Football Club who has been nominated as the Round 5 Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star. Sienna has not missed a beat with a consistent start to the season, delivering stand out performances that have earned her a spot in the best afield for five weeks running.
What the club said:
Sienna became a permanent member of the OAFC Women’s Team this year after playing a handful of games last year when not playing with the Oakleigh Charges. She has now joined her two brothers following their pathway from the Oakleigh Dragons.
Whilst one of the younger members of the team, Sienna is certainly an impressive player to watch, displaying great speed, confidence, skill and determination.
Sienna and her family are amazing assets to our club, both on and off the field – we look forward to watching Sienna continue to achieve great success in the future.
Women’s coach Pat Torpey said: “Sienna is so worthy of this award – we are all very proud. She’s dedicated, very talented and skilful, but more importantly, she is highly respected by all.”
