2025 William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final Day
Take a look back at 2025 VAFA William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final day at Elsternwick Park, as Old Brighton defeated Old Scotch to claim their first top-flight Premiership.
It’s a blockbuster weekend of VAFA LIVE COVERAGE across two days, with the conclusion to the William Buck Premier Men’s Finals & relegation races on Saturday, then four Thirds Men’s Grand Finals on Sunday.
Here are the details & stream links for your viewing pleasure.
SATURDAY AUGUST 30
Kick off your Saturday with our KommunityTV live stream – a William Buck Premier Men’s double-header as St Bernard’s fight to remain in Premier Men’s next season as they host St Kevin’s at the Snakepit.
The Snowdogs are a game clear of the Lions, so they have their destiny in their own hands. If they can defeat SKOB, they will miraculously avoid relegation by pulling up out of their late-season nosedive just before they hit the side of the mountain.
Find out with our LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage on KommunityTV, starting with Reserves from 11.35am, followed by the Seniors coverage from 1.45pm. A News Corp subscription is required to watch the live stream on KommunityTV – sign up from just $6 per week.

Our third Saturday afternoon Premier Men’s live stream on VAFA.com.au this week features Old Xaverians hosting University Blacks at Toorak Park.
Old Xavs will be returning to the finals for the first time since 2016, but will they be doing it on a 3-game winning streak (having won 11 of their last 12), or will they be on the rebound after dropping a game to the Blacks? Can the Blacks throw one last curveball into this crazy campaign, or will the Xavs put some pressure on the Tonners in the race for the minor premiership?
Find out, LIVE STREAMING on VAFA.com.au from 1.55pm Saturday!
SUNDAY AUGUST 31
The first six VAFA premiers for season 2025 will be crowned this Sunday and we have FOUR THIRDS MEN’S GRAND FINALS for you LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au!
First up, we have TWO MORNING GRAND FINALS:
THIRDS DIVISION 5 – MHSOB vs WATTLE PARK (Sunday 9.10am)
MHSOB finished 2 games clear on top, while Wattle Park defeated AJAX in the Qualifying Final to progress to the Second Semi Final against the Unicorns. But this game was abandoned after Animals’ skipper Connor Rogers suffered a nasty leg injury in the second quarter and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Despite Wattle Park leading by 14 points, the VAFA rules declare any game ending before half-time to be abandoned, so it was MHSOB progressing straight through to the Grand Final due to their higher ranking. The Animals then bounced back to win the Preliminary Final by 19 points over Hawthorn last weekend to set up this tantalising rematch.
Don’t miss what promises to be a spirited clash in front of a huge crowd, streaming LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 9.10am Sunday!
THIRDS DIVISION 2 – OLD XAVERIANS vs OLD CAREY (Sunday 9.10am)
Old Xavs finished 2 games clear of Fitzroy on top, then scraped home by 2 points over the Roys in the Second Semi Final to progress straight through to Grand Final Day.
Old Carey finished THIRD and beat Old Geelong by 56 points in the First Semi, then Fitzroy by 38 points in the Preliminary Final – a margin that raised some eyebrows, given Xavs had only narrowly beaten the Roys the previous week. These two teams have met just once this year and it was the Panthers by 70 points in Round 12. Xavs haven’t lost since, stringing together 5 straight wins while Old Carey will enter on an 8-game winning run.
Find out who hoists the cup, LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 9.10am Sunday!
Then we have TWO AFTERNOON GRAND FINALS for your viewing pleasure:
THIRDS DIVISION 3 – ST BEDE’S/MENTONE TIGERS vs ST KEVIN’S (Sunday 2.20pm)
St Bede’s/Mentone Tigers finished one game behind Caulfield in 2nd spot, but defeated the Fields by 10 goals in the Second Semi to progress straight through to the premiership decider.
St Kevin’s finished third and defeated St Bernard’s by 33 points in the First Semi, then Caulfield by 14 goals in the Preliminary Final to earn a shot at the Tigers. They’ve met once this year, with SKOB scoring a whopping 117-point win in Round 10. But the Tigers enter this one full of confidence on a 4-game winning streak, while SKOB have saluted in 5 of their last 6.
Precious silverware is up for grabs & you can enjoy the action LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 2.20pm Sunday!
PREMIER THIRDS – OLD XAVERIANS vs AJAX (Sunday 2.20pm)
Old Xavs finished 4 games clear of AJAX on top, then defeated them by 6 goals in the Second Semi Final to take the express route to Grand Final Day. AJAX bounced back to beat St Bernard’s by 2 goals in the Preliminary Final to set up a rematch against Xavs.
Clearly the two best teams in the top-flight of Thirds footy this season, they’ve ONLY LOST TO EACH OTHER since mid-season – AJAX prevailed over Xavs by 57 points in Round 11, then Xavs returned the favour by 36 points in the Second Semi. Who wins the all-important third game of the series and lifts the cup?
It promises to be a fantastic contest & you’ll see it LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 2.20pm Sunday!
