VAFA Media recognised at AFL Victoria Community Media Awards
VAFA Media has continued its success at the 2025 AFL Victoria Community Media Awards, adding two more awards to the Most Outstanding Match-Day Radio Coverage Award won in 2024. This
It’s another huge weekend of finals action on VAFA Media, including the William Buck Premier Women’s Grand Final, all of the Premier B, Premier C & Under 19 Premier Grand Finals, plus the Premier Men’s Preliminary Final!
Here are the details & stream links for another dramatic weekend of high stakes footy.
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 20
It’s a Kommunity TV DOUBLE HEADER, featuring the William Buck Premier Men’s Preliminary Final followed by the Holmesglen Under 19 Premier Grand Final:
2.10pm – PREMIER MEN’S PRELIMINARY FINAL: OLD XAVERIANS vs OLD SCOTCH
Old Xaverians have shaped as a premiership contender all season long, as evidenced by their 15-4 record (with the losses exclusively to the first and third-ranked teams).
The Tonners aside, they’ve run the table, knocking off every team since Round 3.
Old Scotch struggled with availability for much of the season, losing players to VFL duties and injuries. We said at the beginning of the season that THE key X-Factor in who ultimately hoists the 2025 Premier Men’s cup would be the Cardinals’ availability challenge.
The Cardinal Cavalry arrived just in time, and they swept aside the Blacks, Bloods and then SKOB last week in the First Semi to arrive at the penultimate game of the season with a massive head of steam.
Old Xavs have won their last three against Old Scotch – both meetings this season (81 points in Round 4, then 45 points in Round 14) plus a tight 9-point game in Round 18 last year.
Both teams are stacked with talent and experience across the entire field. Either would be a more than worthy Grand Final opponent for the Tonners.
Who moves to within four quarters of a premiership cup?
It should be a beauty & you can watch it LIVE & EXCLUSIVE on Kommunity TV, with LIVE & FREE radio coverage on VAFA.com.au & the SEN app from 1.55pm Saturday!
And if you’re heading to the game – TAKE YOUR EARPHONES – and enjoy our commentary in REAL-TIME via SEN’s Stadium technology on the SEN App.
The SEN App is available for iPhone and Android, and works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Then straight after the Preliminary Final, stay tuned to Kommunity TV for the Holmesglen Under 19 Premier GRAND FINAL from Elsternwick Park:
5.10pm – UNDER 19 PREMIER GRAND FINAL: OLD BRIGHTON vs ST KEVIN’S
It’s a rematch of last season’s epic Holmesglen Under 19 Premier Grand Final as the Tonners & SKOB run it back under lights at Elsternwick Park.
St Kevin’s finished as minor premiers, 78% ahead of Old Brighton, who also boasted a 15-3 record.
The Tonners got the job done by 32 points in the Second Semi Final, thanks largely to their 5-goal-to-1 second term in a game that was virtually even from that point onwards.
SKOB then survived a classic Extra Time Preliminary Final against Uni Blues after being 27 points up midway through the final term. They showed plenty of grit and mental fortitude to regroup and control the extra periods, and have earned themselves yet another shot at their recent nemesis.
Old Brighton have won all 3 matches between these teams this season – by 6 points in Round 3, 10 points in Round 11, then 32 points in the Second Semi.
Can they claim back-to-back premierships or will St Kevin’s turn the tables after falling 4 points short in last season’s nailbiting decider?
Find out with our LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage on KommunityTV from 4.50pm Saturday!

Plus, we also have a LIVE & FREE Grand Final for you to enjoy this Saturday afternoon on VAFA TV, as the PREMIER B MEN’S champion is decided:
PREMIER B GRAND FINAL – OLD TRINITY vs CAULFIELD GRAMMARIANS (Sat 2.30pm)
They say ‘timing is everything,’ and Caulfield Grammarians’ timing, under first-year coach Paul Satterley, might prove to be absolutely perfect if they can pull off another upset and snatch the silverware.
Both arrive in the Big One having knocked off minor premiers Old Ivanhoe in the past fortnight.
The T’s did it by 17 points in the Second Semi, then the Fields sent the Hoers packing in straight sets by an eye-catching 59 points in the Preliminary Final last weekend.
They will both run out onto Beach Oval full of confidence after powering through the second half of the season. Old Trinity have won 11 of their last 13, while Caulfield Grammarians have saluted in 9 of their last 10.
These two teams have met twice this season, for one win apiece. It was Old Trinity in a 5-point thriller in Round 8, then Caulfield Grammarians by 16 points in Round 18 to secure their place in the finals, albeit after the T’s rested a few players in the last round, knowing that a Top 2 finish was already assured.
Who claims the series decider and heads up to the top-flight with another cup in the cabinet?
What a premiership decider this promises to be, and you can watch it LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 2.20pm Saturday!
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 21
We’ve got 2 Grand Finals for you to savour on Sunday – the William Buck Premier Women’s GRAND FINAL and the PREMIER C MEN’s decider!
PREMIER WOMEN’S GRAND FINAL – OLD SCOTCH vs CAULFIELD GRAMMARIANS (Sun 2.30pm)
Caulfield Grammarians have brought a new dimension to the competition this season, leaping over perennial contenders Old Scotch & St Kevin’s to claim the minor premiership.
They suffered a setback after falling to the Stars in the Second Semi, but bounced back last week to ensure that, for the first time since 2018 (and just the second time since the competition began in 2017), the 3-time champion SKOB Saints are NOT in the Premier Women’s decider.
The Fields knocked them off by a goal to win through to their first Premier Women’s Grand Final and continue what’s been an incredible finals series, with the three matches decided by a total margin of just 20 points, and there’s every reason to believe that this Grand Final will be another thriller.
These two teams met a fortnight ago and, after trailing by 25 points at three-quarter time, Caulfield came flying home – only to fall a goal short.
They’ll be determined not to give such an enormous head start to the reigning champions again.
They’ve met three times this season, with the games decided by a total of just 13 points – Caulfield by 4 points in Round 7, Old Scotch by 3 points in Round 16, and then the 6-point Second Semi nailbiter.
This one has nerve-jangler written all over it!
Will it be back-to-back flags for Old Scotch, or can Caulfield Grammarians win their first top-flight women’s premiership?
Find out with our LIVE coverage on VAFA.com.au or Kommunity TV from 2.20pm Sunday!

Plus we’ve got LIVE & FREE GRAND FINAL ACTION on VAFA.com.au & SEN for you to enjoy:
PREMIER C MEN’S GRAND FINAL – BEAUMARIS vs AJAX (Sunday 2.30pm)
AJAX have come from fourth to qualify for the Premier C Grand Final by upsetting minor premiers Parkdale Vultures in the Preliminary Final, ensuring they will rise to Premier B next season.
The Jackas will ride their wave of momentum into a Grand Final against a team who is also riding high – Beaumaris, who will enter on a 16-game winning streak that stretches all the way back to April 26.
The Sharks have been consistently brilliant, and will enter as favourites to claim their sixth senior men’s VAFA premiership, and their first since winning the 2016 Premier B crown.
But after taking down the more-fancied Tigers and Vultures in the past fortnight, the Jackas will be asking ‘Why Not Us?’ as they also chase a sixth senior premiership, and their first since their C-Grade flag of 2011.
Two teams headed for Premier B football in 2026, but only one will do so with another senior trophy in the cabinet.
Enjoy what promises to be a fascinating premiership decider, streaming LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au, along with our award-winning radio coverage on the SEN app from 2.20pm Sunday!
