VAFA Media Live Coverage – April 25

ANZAC Day football has become a cherished Australian tradition, and we’ve got LIVE VAFA MEDIA COVERAGE of 3 Premier Men’s matches and an Under 19 Premier clash for you to enjoy, whether at home or out and about on Saturday.

SATURDAY APRIL 25

We have another DOUBLE-HEADER for you to enjoy from Brighton Beach Oval, as the Tonners host William Buck Premier Men’s and Holmesglen Under 19 Premier action.

Part 1 of our KOMMUNITY TV DOUBLE-HEADER will see the OLD BRIGHTON host ST KEVIN’s in Premier Men’s action from 1.50pm.

Old Brighton hasn’t lost at home in 973 days. Fortress Brighton has been impenetrable since Round 17, 2023, when Uni Blacks last breached its walls. Since then, the Tonners have played in two Grand Finals and won their first A-Grade flag.

They exploded out of the blocks last weekend, blitzing St Bernard’s by 91 points to kickstart their premiership defence in fine style.

St Kevin’s will arrive bayside battle-hardened after last week’s first-up clash with Old Xaverians, and as the last team to beat the Tonners after rolling them by 27 points at TH King in Round 12 last season. Since then, Old Brighton has won 9 straight by an average of 47 points.

And when you also consider that St Kevin’s actually LED Old Brighton by 13 points at three-quarter time in the corresponding fixture in Round 4 last year, SKOB know that if they can match the reigning champs in general play, then nail their chances around goal, they can give themselves every chance of snapping the streak.

It promises to be another gripping chapter in this great modern rivalry!

Watch it LIVE on KommunityTV with our award-winning VAFA SEN MATCH OF THE DAY commentary team from 1.45pm, with radio coverage also available via the SEN App.

The SEN App is available for iPhone and Android, and works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Then, Part 2 of our KOMMUNITY TV DOUBLE-HEADER will see reigning Holmesglen Under 19 Premiers OLD BRIGHTON host ST BEDE’S/MENTONE TIGERS from 4.40pm.

The Tonners opened their premiership defence with a typically hard-fought 11-point win over SKOB last Saturday night, while the Tigers scored an impressive 28-point win over Old Scotch, after trailing by 10 points at the final change.

They ran riot in the final term, booting 6 unanswered goals in what will be a huge confidence boost as they head to Brighton Beach Oval to test themselves against the back-to-back champs.

On their last visit to Fortress Brighton, they gave the Tonners an almighty scare, coming from 16 points down at three-quarter time in Round 12 last year to fall just 2 points short of what would have been a huge upset win.

But this is a very different-looking Old Brighton side, with 20 players from last year’s Under 19 squad progressing to Senior footy this season, leaving just 7 premiership players still eligible in 2026.

It promises to be a very revealing evening.

It’s SATURDAY NIGHT FOOTY – LIVE & EXCLUSIVE to KommunityTV from 4.40pm! A News Corp subscription is required to watch the live stream on KommunityTV – sign up from just $6 per week.

We’ve got more William Buck Premier Men’s action for you to enjoy as ST BERNARD’S HOSTS OLD SCOTCH LIVE & FREE on VAFA TV from 1.50pm Saturday.

The Snowdogs entered their third consecutive season in William Buck Premier Men’s with the belief that they could escape relegation discussions by challenging the top half of the ladder.

However, they stumbled at the first hurdle last week as they got blown off the park by the Tonners at Brighton. A pragmatic Steve Alessio knows they won’t be the last team to suffer that fate this season, and his charges need to dust themselves off and focus on jumpstarting their season with a win over last season’s OTHER Grand Finalist.

The Cardinals took three-and-a-half quarters to overcome a persistent Caulfield, but they eventually found their extra gear and did enough to pocket the four points.

Old Scotch has beaten St Bernard’s in all 4 of their meetings since the Snowdogs returned to the top flight in 2024, with an average winning margin of 47 points.

Is this the day the Dogs step up and make a statement?

Enjoy the game LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 1.50pm!

Plus, you can catch another LIVE William Buck Premier Men’s clash on VAFA TV as OLD XAVERIANS host OLD TRINITY at Toorak Park.

Xavs were impressive in Round 1, showcasing their depth by comfortably handling St Kevin’s at TH King without starting midfield trio Alex Spralja, Marcus Stavrou and Sam Fisher, amongst numerous others.

The Red & Black have talent on every line, with an impressive midfield feeding a potent attack.

Old Xavs were dominant at home last season, winning 8 of their 9 games at Toorak Park by a whopping average of 63 points. If beating the Tonners at Brighton is the comp’s biggest challenge, then Xavs at Toorak Park is the next toughest.

But Old Trinity will be keen to make a statement of intent in A-Grade.

A dominant force in Premier B last season, they were worthy premiers under legendary coach Donald McDonald.

Can Old Trinity announce their return to the top-flight with an upset win that would reverberate around the competition?

Watch it LIVE & FREE on VAFA TV from 1.50pm Saturday.
