At Sportscover Arena the sun was shining and there was much to everyone’s shock, no wind all day as De La Salle triumphed over a misfiring Old Scotch.
Both teams went into the half time break with the same number of scoring shots although its was De La Salle who took their opportunities when they were presented to them.
It was more of the same in the second half as De La Salle ended the season for Old Scotch and booked themselves a date with rival Old Xaverians in next Sunday’s Preliminary Final.
In Premier B Old Melburnians and Beaumaris played out an absolute classic with the lead changing multiple times in the final quarter before Beaumaris managed to draw away to win by 21 points and ended the OM’s season.
In Premier C Mazenod booked a Preliminary Final against Fitzroy next week after beating Marcellin by the smallest margin!
Marcelling led early but Mazenod came over the top to lead by 14 points late before a final push from Marcellin got them to within a point before the siren broke the hearts of the Eagles faithful.
The Division 3 first semi final was also a classic with UHS-VU coming from behind to defeat Aquinas by two points.
Finals scores were 15.23.113 to 17.9.111 and UHS-VU now progress to a preliminary final against Yarra Valley next weekend.
