Aquinas recovered from a slow start to record a comfortable 40-point win against Glen Eira at Aquinas College. Leading by only eight points at the main break, the Bloods kicked 7.7 in the final two quarters, while restricting the Saints to only 2.5. Steve Tibb and Michael Van Rooy were the best for the winners, while Callum Buchanan stood tall for the Saints.
Emmaus St Leos continued their unbeaten run in 2015 following their 79-point win against Albert Park at Beaurepaire Pavilion this afternoon. Ryan Harding booted six for the Animals, while Paul Baranello ran riot in a best-on-ground performance. The loss leaves the Falcons three games outside the top four and in eighth position on the ladder.
Hawthorn made it two wins in a row when they defeated Swinburne University by 22 points at Rathmines Road Reserve. After an even first quarter, the Hawks kicked nine goals to five to record their sixth win of the season. It’s a harsh loss for the Razorbacks who now sit seventh on the ladder with only four wins from their eleven games.
Power House quickly put last week’s loss to West Brunswick behind them, recording a 43-point win against La Trobe University at Ross Gregory Oval. La Trobe struggled to find the big sticks all day, kicking only three goals to three-quarter time. Luke Stubbs starred up forward for Power House and added another five majors to his 2015 tally.
UHS-VU has survived an Eley Park Sharks-induced scare in their 16-point come-from-behind win at Whitehorse Reserve. Trailing by 16 points at three-quarter time, the Vultures kicked seven goals to two in the final term to steal victory from the Sharks. Kane Benstead dominated in a best-on-ground performance, racking up disposals at will and kicking two crucial final-quarter goals to help edge his side over the line.
