The VAFA extends its deepest condolences to Power House AFC, and the family and friends of David Fitzpatrick who passed away this week.
It is with a very sad heart that the Power House Football Club announces the shock passing of David “Fitzy” Fitzpatrick.
Fitzy passed suddenly at his home this week.
Fitzy came to Power House in 2005 and has been a fixture at the club in his role as Match Day Manager for 13 years. He was one of the hardest working people at Power House.
He built strong relationships with players, umpires, officials and supporters of many opposition clubs and was well known in VAFA circles.
His dedication to ensuring match days went smoothly for everyone involved was exceptional. He would mark grounds, set up goal posts, benches, support and escort umpires, complete paperwork and did “whatever it takes” to get things done.
He lived by the Power House ethos of “Service without Recognition”
He will be remembered for his passion for all things Power House and VAFA and was a friend to all he met.
Always willing to lend an opinion, tell a story or offer advice, Fitzy had a heart of gold.
He will be truly missed by everyone at the club and the VAFA community.
Funeral details will be announced shortly
