SKOB Saints secured their second win for the season defeating Brunswick Renegades by 63 points at Basil St Reserve. A strong, four-quarter performance by the SKOB Saints led them to victory and left the Renegades scoreless. Sarah Cameron was best on ground for St Kevs while Clare Woodhouse shone for Brunswick.
The Fitzroy-ACU girls continued their winning streak after a 67-12 point win over Ajax at Gary Smorgon Oval. A five goal to two first half put top-of-the-table Fitzroy in good stead to take home the points. While Ajax is yet to get a win, stand out performances from Toni Hamilton and Ally Bild were positives from the game.

Top-of-the-table Melbourne University reinforced their dominance with another massive win against Brunswick Renegades (2) at Gillon Oval. The 169-point victors made a fast start with a 9 goal to none haul in the first quarter, which kick-started their strong performance. Renegades’ Suzanne Chilled proved to be one of the best for the day.
West Brunswick remains undefeated after a 71-7 point win over Fitzroy-ACU at Ramsden St Oval. A combined eight goals from Erin McLaughlin, Rebecca King, Evelyn Burry and Sarah Kenny summed up the day and secured the win. Tess McDonald was one of the best and grounds and kicked Fitzroy’s sole goal.
A 3-goal haul from Sophie Louchart saw UHS-VU secure an 18-point win over Therry Penola at John Pascoe Fawkner Reserve Oval. It proved to be a tight contest where UHS-VU won the first three quarters and Therry Penola fought back in the in the fourth with three goals to none. With a final score of 54-36, Louchard was best for UHS-VU and Bridget Costello for Therry Penola.

Ivanhoe AFC were able to clench a six-point win over Melbourne University (2) at home at Ivanhoe Park. After a two-goal apiece first quarter Ivanhoe were able to shoot out in the second with two goals to none. A final quarter fight back from Melbourne Uni was not enough to stop the 37-31-point win. Georgia Aanensen booted two for Ivanhoe while Molly Livingstone was amongst some of Melbourne University’s goal scorers.
The undefeated Marcellin OC were given their first test of the season with a 32-point win over Yarra Old Grammarians at Bullen Park West Oval. Another strong forward performance of three goals from Chiara Moretta assisted in Marcellin’s third win and took her tally to a staggering 11. Caroline Stedmen also had a field day with two goals for Yarra Old Grammarians.
A 14-goal to none first half secured a massive Round 3 Old Carey win against Bullen Templestowe at Spicer Oval, Carey Sports Complex. With 14 different Old Carey goal scorers for the day, they left their opponent scoreless and ran away to a 175-0 point win. Old Carey’s Clare Hollebone was amongst the gold scorers and proved to be one of, if not, the best on ground.

A close encounter at St James Park saw Collegians defeat Swinburne University AFC by 18 points. Collegians dominated the first half with four goals to Swinburne’s none. A fourth quarter fight back from Swinburne saw the final score at a respectable 35-17 Stand out performances from Isabella Bowring and Sophie Barbas assisted in the Collegians’ second win.
Spectators of Gary Smorgon Oval were treated to the first VAFA women’s draw with South Melbourne Districts and St Kevins (2) both scoring 26 for the entirety of the game. St Kevins proved to be slightly on top and looked to take home the points after heading into the final term with three goals to none, but a final three-goal quarter from SMD was enough to split the points. Rachel Daymond was South Melbourne’s best and Emma Vergano likewise for the SKOB Saints.
A low scoring affair saw Old Xaverians defeat Old Brighton by 33 points at Xavier College. A final score of 37-4, and five goals to none for the entirety of the game, resulted in an Old Xaverians victory and positioned them at the top of their table.

A three goal to none first half helped Old Camberwell to a 34-point win over Hawthorn AFC at Gordon Barnard Reserve. Old Camberwell proved too good with four goals combined for Eloise Defina and Ashley Sturrock. Hawthorn’s Emma Peel shone kicking her team’s only goal and being one of the best on ground.
Old Geelong showcased dominance after a 74-6 point win over St Mary’s Salesian at Como Park. A steady four-quarter performance and five-goal to none first half was more than enough to lead the Old Geelong girls to their second win. A combined five goals between Annabel Rothfield and Sarah Robinson further contributed to Old Geelong’s big win.
The undefeated Old Trinity continue to prove themselves as a powerhouse of the women’s competition with big 175-point win against Canterbury Football Club at Hughes Oval. Old Trinity were dominant throughout with multiple scorers and a strong team performance. Emma Hall shone for the Cobras, but it was Old Trinity’s Georgia Fleiter’s day with a stellar 10 goals, taking her season tally to a whopping 17.

Old Haileybury recorded their second win for the season after defeating De La Salle by 101 points at Jordon Reserve. With eight first half goals and seven second half goals, the Old Haileybury girls were too strong for their opponent. De La Salle hit the scoreboard with a minor in the second term and unfortunately were not able to add to it for the remainder of the game.
Caufield Grammarians remain undefeated and Monash Blues encountered their first loss after a close 36-28 final score at Frearson Oval Monash University. A back and forth contest between two strong sides saw the points go in the way of the Caufield girls. A best on ground performance and two goals from Amy Dumas was enough to secure a top position for Caufield Grammarians.
A two-goal Kimberley Watson performance helped Mazenod to a 37-point win against Oakleigh at Mazenod College. After a dead even first quarter with two goals apiece, Mazenod shot ahead kicking six goals to two for the remainder of the game. A gutsy performance from Mazenod’s Laura Backhouse earned her best on ground.

Top-of-the-table Beaumaris remain undefeated with an 89-15 point win over St Bedes/Mentone Tigers at Southern Rd Oval. A fast start of six goals to none from the tenacious Beaumaris girls was more than enough to get them over the line for a third time. The 74-point victors had multiple goal scorers contributing to their 13 goals for the day while Tiger Kate Dempsey had a strong performance despite the loss.
A strong third quarter from St Mary’s Salesian (2) proved to be the key in defeating Ormond AFC by 20 points at Ferndale Park. Prior to the five-goal to none third team both teams were on relatively even terms with the score sitting at 18-10 going into the main break. Rebecca Grant had a field day being named best on as well as kicking two goals.
Hampton Rovers recorded their first win for the season after defeating Old Mentonians by 20 points at Keysborough Playing Fields. The Rovers showcased fight and determination after going into the final term a goal behind to boot four winning goals. Kristy Ebbott was amongst Hampton’s goal scorers while Old Mentonians’ Emily Whitehouse kicked two.
