The VAFA congratulates Old Xaverians’ Daniel Stanford who has been named the Round 14 Grill’d Rising Star following his standout performance against Old Melburnians on the weekend.
What the club said:
“Daniel first started playing at Old Xaverians in 2018 after playing at Oakleigh Chargers in 2016 and 2017. He is on Collingwood VFL list and came to the club via a couple of his Oakleigh Chargers teammates.
Daniel plays like Cam Guthrie from Geelong as he is a good athlete who can play in all positions. Daniel is an excellent athlete with both speed and endurance. He uses the ball well and is really flexible as he can play back, forward and wing.
At the football club, he is a man of few words but takes his football really seriously and very committed to the club. Outside of football, he is renowned for his ability to install quality window furnishings for AP Shutters and Blinds. After installing a few blinds upside down, he’s now worked it all out.”
