UHS-VU continued their unbeaten run at the top of the Division 1 ladder with a 26-point victory over Therry Penola at Brens Oval. The Vultures asserted their dominance early and kicked seven goals to two in the opening half before the Lions fought back with four goals to three in the second. Nicholas Devereux and Thomas Waters top-scored with three goals each for the Vultures, while Kane O’Halloran booted three of Therry’s six.
Prahran Assumption ended a three-game losing streak in the most emphatic way possible, defeating Old Paradians by 106 points at Toorak Park. It was the Raiders who jumped out of the box with five goals to one in the first quarter before the Two Blues hit their straps and piled on 23 goals to three thereafter. Callum Wilson was simply unstoppable up forward for the Two Blues and finished the game with a bag of 10 goals while Tim Maya kicked four. Beau Calow was a standout for the Raiders on a tough day.
Peninsula OB claimed their second win from their past three games as they defeated West Brunswick by 65 points at Peninsula School Ground. William Harbinson starred for the Pirates with seven goals while teammates Shaun Payze and Ronald Raworth booted three each. The Westies, who sit 10th with one win, were well led by Sam Fleming who kicked five of their 14 goals.
Kew made it four wins on the trot after they defeated Preston Bullants by 56 points at Ruthven Reserve. The Bears led by just four points at half time but exploded with 12 goals to four in the third and fourth terms. Nathan Sambevski kicked five goals and took his season tally to 18 from six games, while Richard Wilton was named best afield. Alex Ricco and Dean Calcedo impressed for the Bullants as they fall from fifth to seventh on the ladder.
St Mary’s Salesian ended a three-game losing streak, running out six-goal winners over Oakleigh at Scammell Reserve. The Saints led by six points at half time and ran away with the match via an eight-goal to three second half. Nicholas Bussell dominated in a BOG display for the Saints, while Aaron Cloke booted for goals for the Krushers.
