Aquinas all but cemented a top two spot with a hard-fought 12-point win over Canterbury. The Bloods trailed by five points at three quarter time but ignited with six goals to three in the fourth term. Ashley Naulty was a man on a mission in front of goal and finished the game with five while his teammates all kicked one each. Mitchell Szabo booted three for the Cobras as they sit fourth with six wins. The second-placed Bloods are 16 premiership points ahead of their closest opposition.
Seven goals to four in the second half helped Manningham Cobras to their ninth win of the season, defeating Parkside by 31 points at Pitcher Park. The ladder leaders led by just nine points after a tight first half but opened things up with four unanswered goals in the third quarter. Jake Cawsey booted six in just his third game while Ayden Sukkel kicked three and found plenty of it. Michael Romano and Steven Logozzo were sensational for the Red Devils.
Emmaus St Leo’s jumped into third spot on the ladder with a 14-point victory over Westbourne Grammarians at Westbourne Grammar. Trailing by 14 points at quarter time, the Animals kicked eight goals to three thereafter in a low-scoring affair, finishing 44-58. Justin Porter was best for the Warriors with two goals, but no results had been submitted for the Animals. Due to the structure of the eight-team bye system, the Animals sit above the Warriors and Canterbury on percentage but have played two less games.
