SATURDAY JUNE 21
Kick off your VAFA Saturday with our KommunityTV live-stream – a William Buck Premier Women’s double-header as Beaumaris hosts West Brunswick at Hampton’s Boss James Reserve.
It’s a huge game for both teams, but for different reasons.
Beauy started the season in Premier B and went a perfect 4-0. During the re-grading period, they bravely put their hand up to be promoted to Premier Women’s to keep developing their team and program.
They are 0-5 so far in the top tier, albeit with a couple of narrow losses that could have gone the other way. Is this to be a history-making day for the Sharks – a first Premier Women’s win and the chance to climb off the bottom of the table?
West Brunswick are in the finals hunt, so the 4 points on offer here are every bit as precious. Currently clinging to fourth spot, they could drop as low as seventh should they lose and other results go against them, so it’s a massive game for the Magpies as well.
Find out who prevails with our LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage on KommunityTV, with Reserves from 11.55am, followed by the Seniors coverage from 1.45pm. A News Corp subscription is required to watch the live stream on KommunityTV – sign up from just $6 per week.
This week’s SEN VAFA Match of the Day could ultimately shape the finals picture as St Bernard’s hosts University Blacks.
Blacks roll down into the Snake Pit just half-a-game clear of the Snowdogs in the battle for fifth (and potentially fourth) spot.
Dale Bower’s men have turned their season around in sensational style, winning 4 straight after having dropped 4 of their first 5. Last week’s heart-stopping win over the previously unbeaten Tonners made the entire competition sit up and take notice. They are full of confidence and belief – “Why not us??!”
Can Steve Alessio’s charges halt their momentum and pick up their first home win of the season?
The Dogs split the points in a thrilling draw against Uni Blues last week, remaining within striking distance of the Top 4. Now they need to end the white-hot Blacks’ winning run to leapfrog them and potentially vault themselves back into fourth.
It feels like a significant crossroads game for both teams.

One of the games of the season will be LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au as Old Xaverians host St Kevin’s at Toorak Park.
Dan Donati’s Xavs sit second (level on points with the Bloods), after winning 6 of their last 7 to be beautifully placed at 7-2 come the halfway mark.
Triple All-Australian and Sydney Swans premiership player Josh Kennedy was added to their already impressive line-up last weekend and joins a star-studded midfield that SKOB coach Anthony Lynch will have spent plenty of time scheming against this week.
St Kevin’s are clinging to fourth at 5-4, with Blacks and St Bernard’s (who play each other) breathing down their necks. They can ill-afford a stumble that sends them tumbling back into the chasing peloton.
They will arrive at Toorak Park buoyed by a fighting win over the Cardinals last week, and this SKOB group always puts up a strong contest, as evidenced by their four losses this year – by 14, 7, 12 & 6 points. Even when beaten, they are always in the hunt.
They’ll back their miserly defence to make life difficult for Xavs’ dynamic multi-pronged attack.
Get comfortable on the couch & settle in for what promises to a fantastic high-quality clash LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 2.25pm Saturday!
Another of our VAFA TV live streams will see reigning premiers Old Scotch host De La Salle at Camberwell Sportsground.
The Cardinals have pulled out of a 4-game nosedive in recent starts, belting St Bernard’s, then storming home to defeat the Blues before just falling short against SKOB on the road last weekend.
Whilst not yet at their brilliant best, they are showing distinct signs of heading in the right direction.
Their biggest challenge, however, is keeping in touch with the Top 4, in order to be close enough to run them down and defend their title come September.
They enter Round 10 a game and 20% behind SKOB, and given three of the next four opponents include the Bloods, Tonners & Xavs, they simply must bank the points here AND try to do it in style to beef up their percentage.
But they can’t afford to take the winless De La Salle lightly. Nick Hyland’s men played their best football of the season last weekend against Xavs, who took four quarters to eventually break them.
If they bring that same spirit to Camberwell and take their chances when they present, they can quickly become a banana-peel for the reigning champs.
Tune in to our free live stream coverage on VAFA.com.au from 1.55pm Saturday!
Our final live broadcast of Round 10 is a Premier C blockbuster as the 4th-placed St Bedes/Mentone Tigers host league leaders Parkdale Vultures at one of the competition’s most raucous and passionate venues, Mentone Reserve.
The Tigers saw their 6-game winning streak ended by local rivals Beaumaris last week in a defeat that saw them slip from third to fourth after the Sharks got hold of them with the breeze at their back in the third term.
It was just their second loss for the season and now they have the chance to regroup and make a statement by rolling the unbeaten Vultures to close the gap at the top to just a single game.
Parkdale are a perfect 9-0, but have faced their sternest challenges in the past two starts, hanging on by 10 points over Ajax, then coming from 25 points down early in the final term to steal an unlikely one-point win over PEGS at Windy Hill.
Can the Tigers do what no-one has done so far in 2025 or will Parkdale’s perfect season keep on rolling?
Find out as you enjoy all the colour and passion LIVE from Mentone Reserve on VAFA.com.au from 1.55pm Saturday!
