After last season’s success representing Masala Dandenong Thirds, during which he took the Mark of the Year, former champion AFL goalkicker Brendan Fevola is pulling on the boots in the VAFA once again this Saturday, when he runs out for the Eley Park Sharks in their Thirds Division 5 clash with St Mary’s Salesian at Whitehorse Reserve in Box Hill.
FOX FM’s ‘Fifi, Fev & Nick’ breakfast show promotion has once again put grassroots football into the spotlight and delivered a star-studded line-up, with popular comedian Dave Hughes also taking the field in a special one-off appearance for the Sharks, while Aussie music star Amy Shark will rock Shark Park with a half-time performance!
Fevola, a fan favourite and one of the most prolific goalkickers of the modern era, will once again lace up the boots in the VAFA, with a big crowd expected to watch the former Coleman Medallist back in action.
Hughesy will bring his trademark humour and personality to the field in his first appearance since last year’s Legends game, and will provide plenty of entertainment for players and spectators alike.
Eley Park officials have embraced the opportunity, with the big game expected to draw one of the club’s biggest crowds in its history. Both teams enter at 2-2, with the winner to kick a game clear inside the Top 4.
Entry is free, and supporters are encouraged to arrive early, with a bumper crowd expected for what promises to be a memorable day for all involved.
