An impressive year on the field from St Kevin’s Old Boys has seen them claim the 2022 VAFA Club Championship.
St Kevin’s topped the ladder with 199.5 points ahead of Beaumaris on 196.75 points and Mazenod on 190.62 points.
VAFA history was made by St Kevin’s this year, by becoming the first club to win both the William Buck Premier Men’s and Women’s premierships.
The club last won the award in 2017 (with 191 points) and prior to that in 2015 (with 159.5 points).
The VAFA Club Championship has been awarded since 1986 as a means to reward the top performing club during the home and away season, testing clubs at all levels during the season with points awarded based on which team secures a win. A pro-rata ratio was used across Premier B and C men’s this year to ensure fairness, given Premier B was a reduced season, and Premier C was extended.
